My Approach

Within a warm, open and compassionate environment, I strive to deeply understand my clients’ concerns so that we can address them effectively.

Together, we work to make sense of the challenges in their lives and to use this understanding to navigate them more successfully.

A major focus of my work is using mindfulness and body awareness to create deep and lasting change that leads you to think more clearly, feel more balanced and act more skillfully.

With some clients, therapy focuses on learning life skills. With others, the emphasis is on developing the emotional capacity to more effectively manage difficult situations.

Often, it is useful to help clients put their life events in context so that clients can understand how they have been shaped and then take control of this process.

My approach draws from training and study in a diverse array of wisdom traditions and psychotherapy modalities, including:

  • Hakomi Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy
  • Relational Psychotherapy
  • Body Centered Psychotherapy
  • Focusing
  • Buddhism
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy
  • Attachment Theory
  • Psychodynamic Theory
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Somatics
  • Formative Psychology
  • Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
  • Cognitive Neuroscience
  • NonViolent Communication
  • Internal Family Systems
  • Gestalt Therapy

I encourage you to call and schedule an initial session to see if we are a good match.
